Musically trained as a classical pianist, his love of traditional and world music was kindled Breton harpist Alan Stivell when he first toured Australia in the late 70s. His wide musical knowledge earned him a position as Record Librarian at the ABC, and he later presented Classical and World music programs on community radio. After attending a Harp workshop at a Folk Festival in Scotland in 1992, Julius decided to buy a Harp on his return.
